Statement
We are all beads on the one string…
I am interpreting this metaphor by using the mandorla in
the form of a bead. The vessels are linked together, like
a strand of beads; prayer beads. They appear to be the
same, but the surface of each vessel has been pierced,
exposing the inner space through natural illumination,
making them individual.
Mandorla: almond shaped aureole
used in Christian and Buddhist art. It represents the overlap
of the spiritual and material planes – the sacred.
It denotes an opening or gateway, and in this form is strongly
linked to the iconography of the female gender and female
sexuality.
